Waste management
Regarding waste management, Mercedes-Benz Manufacturing Hungary Kft.’s main goals are to prevent the generation of waste during production, to continuously reduce the amount of waste, and to re-use waste to the largest possible extent in the interest of achieving sustainable development. The plant’s waste management has been greatly successful in recent years, the recovery rate has been increased by more than 54% since 2013, and it does not even include the recovery of scrap metal - which is 100%.
This result, which is considered remarkable even in comparison to European rates, was achieved by locating and involving partners trading in the selective collection of nearly 100 types of waste, as well as disposal and treatment of waste. Waste management in charge of controlling, and contracted service providers performing operational work both played a significant role here.
