Mercedes-Benz will build its second plant in Kecskemét, where the production of both front- and rear-wheel-drive layout cars as well as of alternative powered models will be possible in the spirit of Industry 4.0. Mercedes-Benz Manufacturing Hungary Kft. will create 2500 new jobs at the new plant, a lot more in the suppliers’ line and in factories working in Germany. “In the next few years, we are planning an EUR 1 billion investment on our factory site in Kecskemét. As a result of the investment a very effective, state-of-the-art production facility will be established with the newest technology, where within the flexible production system cars of various engineering architecture and power option models will roll off the assembly line. Thus our production capacity will increase and we can react to market demands in a flexible and fast manner” - said Member of the Divisional Board responsible for the production and supply line of Mercedes-Benz Cars, Mr. Markus Schäfer.
