MBMH-NJE Signing Ceremony
Mercedes supports higher education in Kecskemét in a new way
Neumann János University and Mercedes-Benz Manufacturing Hungary Kft. have signed an agreement to enhance student life and support the education of automotive engineers. This agreement further strengthens the long-standing strategic cooperation between the University of Kecskemét and the German automotive company, which has spanned over a decade.
The new sponsorship agreement aims to deepen the collaboration between the university and the company by promoting the transformation of student life. Under this agreement, the 'Mercedes-Benz Made in Kecskemét' module (worth two ECTS credits) will be extended for an additional three years. The Faculty of Automotive Engineering's research workshop will receive two test vehicles for educational purposes, allowing students to gain hands-on experience with the models. Moreover, the Kecskemét car manufacturer will provide financial support for university life, including student self-government events, competitions, conferences, and open days. A notable aspect of the current agreement is the creation of the "Mercedes-Benz Meetingbox", a quiet zone on campus.
The sponsorship agreement was signed on May 22nd by Jens Bühler, CEO of Mercedes-Benz Manufacturing Hungary Kft., and Dr. Zoltán Nagy, President and CEO of Neumann János University in Kecskemét. During the signing ceremony, it was emphasized that the goal is to further develop the professional relationship between the university and the car manufacturer, thereby supporting the student and recruitment goals of both parties.
