First graduating class of the Mercedes-Benz School in Kecskemét obtains bilingual diploma
Students at the Mercedes-Benz School in Kecskemét, a satellite institution of the General Cultural Center of Germans in Hungary, have reached an important milestone as they completed their final year. The graduation ceremony was attended by several distinguished guests, including Kirsten Ahlers, Head of the Cultural Department at the German Embassy Budapest, and Hajnalka Szetei, Managing Director of Mercedes-Benz Manufacturing Hungary Kft.
In a festive ceremony on June 20, 2025, sixteen students from the school’s first graduating class received their bilingual Hungarian-German high school diplomas. This dual qualification enables them to pursue further education at universities and colleges both in Hungary and Germany on equal terms, while also significantly enhancing their prospects on the international job market.
The Mercedes-Benz School was founded in 2009 and, following a comprehensive educational development strategy, gained official recognition in 2021 as a German School Abroad. This made it part of a global network of around 140 institutions. Through bilingual education, students acquire excellent language skills, and international exchange programs offer them valuable intercultural competencies.
